Sacred Space

A Place to belong

Sacred Space is a time to explore what it means to be a Christian, to ask life’s big questions, and to do so within a warm and welcoming community. Wherever you are in your faith journey — whether you have no idea what Christianity is about, or have been a Christian your whole life — join us as we “go on toward perfection,” together.

Our gatherings follow the structure of the Episcopal Church’s Compline or Night Prayer service. We pray together; meditate in silence, through music, and by reading Scripture; share our joys and concerns; and offer testimonies about how Christ is working in our lives. We also set aside time to learn about and reflect upon Native traditions. All are warmly welcomed to attend, and light refreshments will be provided.

time & location

Sacred Space takes place every Wednesday evening at 7pm (Central Time). We meet at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Wakpala. The church is conveniently located just off Route 1806, near the marked turn-off into the community of Wakpala. Positioned on top of a hill that overlooks Lake Oahe, the church is easily visible from the surrounding area. You can also find St. Elizabeth’s on Google Maps.
